The 10 producers who registered the most Angus beef cattle in the state of Michigan recorded a total of 320 Angus with the American Angus Association® during fiscal year 2012, which ended Sept. 30, according to Bryce Schumann, CEO of the American Angus Association.
The 10 top recorders in Michigan are: Danielle E Foster, Niles, 47-head; Dawson Farms, Concord, 39; Michigan State Univ, East Lansing, 38; Voogt Farms, Marne, 35; Kevin Beckington, Merritt, 32-head; Phil & Lisa Tuggle, Ithaca, 30; Sumerix Farms, Lachine, 29; Bordner Angus Farms, Sturgis, 27; Butternut Ridge Farms, Coldwater, 24-head; Craig Jerz, Decatur, 19.
Angus breeders across the nation in 2012 registered 315,007 head of Angus cattle. “Our year-end statistics continue to demonstrate strong demand for Angus genetics and solidify our long-held position as a leader in the beef cattle industry,” Schumann said. “These results underscore our members’ commitment to providing genetic solutions to the beef cattle industry.”
