American Angus Association Announces the Ten Michigan Breeders who Registered the Most Angus.
The 10 producers who registered the most Angus beef cattle in the state of Michigan recorded a total of 401 Angus with the American Angus Association® during fiscal year 2015, which ended Sept. 30, according to Richard Wilson, Association interim chief executive officer.
The 10 top recorders in Michigan are: Dawson Farms, Concord; Grand River Angus Farm LLC, Grand Rapids; Douglas & Amanda Powell, Ionia; Kevin Beckington, Merritt; Voogt Farms, Marne; Phil & Lisa Tuggle, Ithaca; Butternut Ridge Farms, Coldwater; Highbanks Angus Farm, Nashville; Filhart, Clare; Danielle E Foster, Niles; Fitzner Farm, Wolverine.
Angus breeders across the nation in 2015 registered 320,362 head of Angus cattle. “Our growth this fiscal year continues to demonstrate strong demand for Angus genetics and solidifies our long-held position as a leader in the beef cattle industry,” Wilson says. “These results underscore our members’ commitment to providing genetic solutions to the beef cattle industry.”
