The Michigan Angus Association is excited to announce the upcoming Michigan Angus Field Day August 15th at 1:00 pm hosted by Single Tree Farms in Charlotte, MI. The field day will feature Dr. Dan Moser, President of Angus Genetics, Inc. Dr. Moser will speak about the world of angus genetic testing, genomic enhanced EPD’s, and where the Angus industry is headed through the use of genetic testing. A demonstration of DNA collection for genomic testing will be featured on the farm. The chance to have an industry leader like Dr. Moser speak about where the future of genetics and EPD’s are headed is an exciting opportunity for Michigan cattle breeders to take advantage of.
The field day at Single Tree Farms will feature cattle on display proudly raised by Evan and Grace Boehmer, and Kris Boehmer and Gene Bellinger. Junior programs will be featured highlighting the following contests: judging contest, poster contest, quiz bowl contest, graphic design & photo contest. The association hopes juniors will take advantage of this chance to highlight their hard work in the junior association at the field day. Also included at the farm will be custom gates and livestock handling systems on display highlighting Single Tree Farms new business, STF Enterprises. STF Enterprises will be raffling a custom built hay feeder, and all profits will benefit the junior association. The end of the field day will feature networking and a complete prime rib dinner. The Michigan Angus field day is made possible every year by the host farm and various sponsors, this year those include Zoetis, Vitaferm, Kent, and Single Tree Farms and STF Enterprises.
