Brand The Barn
August 15 @ 12:00 am - August 17 @ 12:00 am
Two CAB barn painting events in Michigan:
Single Tree Farms at Charlotte – August 15, 1 p.m.
Sterzick Farms at Lowell – August 17, 1 p.m.
Certified Angus Beef brand celebrates 40th anniversary with barn paintings
Michigan Angus breeders are invited to join the Sterzick and Boehmerfamilies along with others from across the beef community to share a meal and watch paint dry. The gatherings are two of 40 planned in 2018, as the Certified Angus Beef ® brand (CAB®) celebrates 40 years of registered Angus cattle producing the highest quality beef. Painting the brand’s familiar logo on 40 barns across America is a throwback to old-school marketing, and a tip of the hat to the breeders who created the brand in 1978 and continue to provide leadership to it today.
The Boehmer family will host guests and media on August 15th at Single Tree Farms (site is the main farm, 4939 Marshall Road, Charlotte).
On August 17th the Sterzick family’s farm (5772 Alden Nash, Lowell) will be the site of barn painting No. 29.
“This effort is a tangible symbol of the valuable, and interconnected, roles our partners play in guiding the Certified Angus Beef brand from farm to table,” says Tracey Erickson, vice president of marketing. “It’s an honor for us to join efforts with our ranching partners who have always been at the heart of this brand.”
The barns will be painted by Troy Freeman, of Free Sky Studios, Springfield, Ill. Freeman is an experienced mural and large scale painter for businesses, cities, amusement parks, schools, residences and more. Painting takes two to three days at each barn site. The first barn was painted the week of Jan. 15 on Baldwin Angus Ranch, along the well-traveled Interstate 75 route near Ocala, Fla., and the campaign will conclude in October near the brand’s headquarters in Wooster, Ohio.
